Devi Kund is one of several high altitude lakes in Uttarakhand Himalayas which are revered by the locals. These lakes are frozen throughout the year and melt only towards the end of the monsoons. Trekking during the end of monsoons, one sees a million shades of green and the play of clouds in the blue sky has to be seen to be believed. Locals trek to these lakes for annual religious ceremonies.
